Analog Relax was founded by Yasushi Yurugi — a passionate record collector, accomplished musician, jazz aficionado, and visionary designer of phono cartridges. A dedicated saxophonist with a deep admiration for jazz legend Zoot Sims, Yurugi’s enthusiasm led him to establish the Zoot Sims Fan Club. His devotion to music, particularly on vinyl, sparked a desire to unlock even more of the emotion and nuance hidden within the grooves.

“I’ve never doubted that records offer the best sound quality for enjoying music. I live surrounded by thousands of records and eight turntables,” Yurugi shares.

Driven by this passion, he set out to design moving-coil cartridges that surpass existing performance standards — a challenge he embraced wholeheartedly. “I’m currently developing products that address the challenges of living in an analogue-rich environment and sharing them with vinyl enthusiasts around the globe,” he explains.

Every Analog Relax cartridge is handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans. The team explores a wide range of materials to push the boundaries of sound quality, always with the goal of delivering joy to the listener.
