NAIM NAP 250-2 POWER AMPLIFIER (DR UPGRADED)

The Naim NAP 250-2 is a highly regarded stereo power amplifier from Naim’s classic series, continuing a lineage that dates back to the original NAP 250 of 1975. This particular example benefits from the desirable DR (Discrete Regulator) upgrade, bringing it closer to the later factory NAP 250 DR specification and delivering an important enhancement to its power-supply regulation.

Naim’s DR technology was derived from development work undertaken for the flagship Statement amplifier and is designed to provide an exceptionally stable, low-noise power supply to the amplifier circuitry. The result is greater transparency and clarity while retaining the qualities for which the NAP 250 has long been celebrated: pace, rhythm, timing, dynamic authority and powerful, controlled bass. Stereophile also spoke very highly of the NAP 250 DR when reviewing its successor, describing the outgoing model as a great power amplifier and specifically praising its fine timing, tuneful bass, solid rhythmic performance and spacious, well-focused stereo imaging—qualities that helped establish the DR-equipped NAP 250 as such a highly regarded Naim design.
